Handmade Piggy Banks by Earthgirl Pottery

I make banks in a variety of animals including cows, elephants, ducks and monkeys. I throw the body of the bank on the wheel, in one piece, the excess clay must be trimmed- top and bottom and then their personalities are attached(top to tail), they are dried slowly then painted, bisque fired, glazed and the fired again. Each bank is a special and unique object, no two are ever exactly alike. They have cork filled holes on their undersides so you'll never have to break 'em open. Custom made banks make great baby gifts and also are perfect to commemorate special birthdays. I usually put the recipients name on the side of the pig and their established year. I also can put a year underneath with your name on it. Pick a color palate for the dots or leave him or her spotless. Banks range in price between $75 and $150. Custom orders take an average of 6-8 weeks.
